Typing Tutor 10

Typing Tutor 10 is an okay typing program. Although it has many skill levels, this game is more suitable for intermediate to advanced typers who are in upper elementary, junior high, or high school. I really enjoyed the "game show" feel as I competed with 3 other computer generated players. The trivia questions used were based on a wide range of topics. Each player is awarded points as the game progresses. For example, the question is asked, "Where is the famous loch ness monster found?" Since I wasn't the first to buzz in I missed out on 1000 points, but I typed in the correct answer, "Scotland" and still got points.

A second grader tried playing and was only interested in the playing the games, instead of the lessons. The games were hard for him even on the lowest skill level. This game is better for more focused children who will take the time to do the lessons, not just the games. I recommend the program Mavis Beacon instead, I started playing it at age 9 or 10 and I can now type up to 80 WPM.
